The car was sold through the Chester, PA sales branch of Ford and its first known owner was Paul Knepper who lived in Trexlortown, PA. He owned the car in the 1960s. He sold the car to William Cole in late 1971, who had the intention of restoring it, but never did.

Al Gillis purchased the car in December 2000 and embarked on a complete restoration undertaken by Tom Brooks of Lancaster, PA. Brooks replaced the doors, three fenders, the trunk lid, and other sheet metal that were sourced from Merv Adkins. The restoration was completed in 2010.
